Turning ‘One Day’ Into Today.

It’s hard to believe, but the last time I ran more than 2 km was way back in late 2020. A lot has changed since then. Like many of us, COVID turned my world upside down. Though I’m thankful that I recovered from it, I felt drained—my energy was sapped, brain fog made it hard to focus, and my stamina was nowhere near what it used to be.

I tried several times to get back into my running groove, but the consistency I once cherished felt like a distant memory. As the years rolled by, multiple new year resolutions were made, only to be broken. Old habits I had worked so hard to leave behind were back with a vengeance.

But not anymore!

This year, I’ve decided it’s time for a bold reset. A complete overhaul. And then the thought struck me: What if I prepared for another 42K?

To make it more exciting, I’m setting myself a unique challenge—to get marathon-ready in 42 weeks. Sounds crazy, doesn’t it? But deep down, it felt like the perfect challenge to push me forward.

Here’s the plan: I aspire to be ready for the Kaveri Trail Marathon in November 2025. Kaveri Trail Marathon (KTM) is one of the most beautiful trail runs in Karnataka and one of the oldest too, and it feels like the perfect stage for my comeback story.

Why This Blog?

I’m starting this blog not just to hold myself accountable, but to spark inspiration in others who might be feeling stuck, just like I was. This isn’t just about my journey—it’s about creating a space where anyone, regardless of where they’re starting from, can find the motivation to take that first step. Together, we can build a community that supports, encourages, and celebrates every small victory along the way.

Day 1: The First Step

This morning, I faced a familiar battle: the tempting call of the snooze button and the comfort of my bed, especially with Bengaluru’s chilly weather. It took every ounce of willpower to resist the pull from the Zz land, but I pushed through. I dragged myself out, laced up my shoes, and stepped out into the cool morning air. I kept it simple—a 3K walk, no running or jogging for now to avoid injuries while I shed a few kilos. To cap it off, I added some stretches and a short meditation session. It was tough, but in the end, it was totally worth it.

It wasn’t much, but it was a start. And sometimes, that’s all you need—to start.

My Current Stats

Yep, I’m officially obese and my body functions like a 44 year old, not exactly a picture of health. But here’s the thing: these numbers are not the final chapter of my story. Rather, this is where it starts. The good news is that with consistency, determination, and a clear plan, I know I can rewrite it, one run at a time.

Looking Ahead

Over the next 42 weeks, I’ll share my training plan, what I eat, the strategies I’m using to stay consistent, and the ups and downs of this journey. My goal is to make it light, relatable, and hopefully inspiring for anyone who’s thinking of starting their own journey.
